The website is very nice, and easy to understand, Its done very tastefully.
Would there be any possibility that any of your “Harveys resided in Washington?
Joseph J. Harvey and Alice J. (Gray) Harvey?
They had several children through the 1900′s and 1930′s
Harry, Charles, Joseph Leroy, Agnes, Frank, Ralph, Earl?
Very interested in the Harvey information. Wondering if you are connected to the Harvey’s of Kinston, N.C. (Lenoir County)
I am seeking info on this line.

Just wanted to let Peter Harvey know that my Harvey family originated in Crossmaglen too. I have a baptism certificate copy of 1858 for my great-grandfather. It’s from the register of baptisms in the Parish of Upper Creggan. The child was Thomas Harvey, son of Michael Harvey and Catherine Lennon. The extract came from St. Patrick’s Church, Crossmaglen. My records show that this Thomas Harvey was married to Margaret Larkin and that their child (my grandfater) was baptized in New York City in 1886. Good luck with your search!

To Steve Harvey#47 comment – I have a book of articles all about the Harveys in Chadds Ford esp. William the doctor. He transcribed a note from his great grandfather William Harvey that lays out the family. I live about 20 minutes from Chadds Ford and intend to delve into a lot of this history through the Chester County Historical Society.

Hello, My g-grandmother was Hester Jane Harvey, b. 14 Nov 1964 in Watertown, NY, USA and died 15 Mar 1944 in Santa Monica, CA., USA. Her husband Marshall Jackson b. July 1861 in Ontario, Canada, d. Jan 1917 by a criminal he was escorting back to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on the train near the border. Hester Jane Harvey then took her 3 daughters and moved to Santa Monica, CA. Her son, Burnett Harvey Jackson (my grandfather) remained in Manitoba and there he met my grandmother Lenora Shepherd.
Hester’s parents were John Casey Harvey, b. abt. 1840 in NY, USA and died in Pembina Cty, N.D., USA. He married Elizabeth Burnett, b. abt. 1840 in Kingston, NY, USA. Hester’s grandfather was E. Harvey (no other information). It seems reasonable to approx. his birth (E. Harvey) was on/bef. 1820. I know that Hester had 2 sisters Sarah and Ellen and 4 brothers James Harvey b. 7 Apr 1854 in NY. The other 3 brothers I have only their names but no other facts, they were Samuel, John and William Harvey.
If you have any Harvey information that might help me, please e-mail me at: Sandyrow@aol.com Thank you.

My father Sydney Harvey SR (deceased in 1998) did not speak much about his dad whose name I believe was Jeremiah Harvey. My dad and his brothers (Emmanuel and Joseph Harvey – deceased) grew up with their mom (Ann Bailey) on 110 Rum Lane in Kingston, Jamaica. We believe were related to the One of Harvey brothers that came to Jamaica and settled in Hanover (Harvey River) but we are not sure which one of the brothers we are related to.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe all the Harveys originally from Jamaica may need to meet in Hanover River to determine who our ancestors were.
Thanks!

I would love to find some information on Harveys in Maine. My great grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Harvey, born in Gloucester MA in 1849. Her father was “from Maine”, supposedly Down East Maine and may have had some American indian blood. He married Lydia Stuart in Gloucester and died at sea of pneumonia and was buried at sea. Lydia then married a Frank Bernard so my great grandmother then became Mary Elizabeth Harvey Bernard. She married William Farmer and died in Boothbay Maine in 1922. I don’t know her father’s first name but would like to trace his family line.

Sounds all very interesting, My great aunts and uncles share alot of information with me and they had an uncle who went to Cuba also I can’t remember his name..the problem we have is that there is so much so my cousin Ilesha who has also posted on here are going to research it. I know my great great grandfather Thomas Harvey( who was a white man) was an author who wrote a book with Joseph Sturge regarding the state of “negro population” as it is put. I believe he travelled around the caribbean gathering information until he settled down and married a black woman who I believe was Black Portugese (don’t quote me on this, I can’t remember where she come in to the picture but she does and that was the start of my branch of the Harvey family. My great Uncle and aunts remember their grandfather and there are many amusing stories!!! keep me updated with what you find my email is nichala10@hotmail.com

Got you. But regardless your roots stared in Hanover. This is why; two brothers came from England in the 1840′S. James and John Harvey. They were bookkeepers and then became Lawyers. They settled in Jamaica and married to the natives. They were the first to married to black women on the Island. They bought land with a river running through it and named it Harvey River. He then named the entire district Harvey River. Lorna Goodison wrote a book “From Harvey River” that’s where your roots started. You can also check the archive online with the Jamaica Gleaner to trace your roots. I will send you info as I receive

There a plethora of Harvey’s are born from Francine and Aceanyer Harvey 5 girls and 3 boys all my aunts and uncles of which most of passed away, God rest there souls..Reunions are now held around, Mansfield, Louisiana, Stockton, California and now Edward Vincent Park of Inglewood, California…in closing..Hello and welcome all Harvey’s new and the very mature!!!

Don’t know whether this is still a good address and number, but it is listed to Gene Aroy Harvey, Sr. There’s also a Gene Aroy Harvey Jr, just about age 44. At least it’s a start!
Good luck!
This is so interesting I am also, looking for my other fellow Harvey’s but I am the Harvey from Jamaica specifically St. Marys.

Hello to all the descendant of William Harvey, formerly of Worcester, England and his wife, Judith Osborne, who located to Chadd’s Ford, PA in 1714. Their son, Isaac, then moved to Va and NC. His offspring traveled to Ohio and onto Indiana in the early 1800s. I’ve traced the family tree back two generations to William’s grandfather, Richard. Would love to hear from any of Isaac’s brats out there or anyone else related to my branch.

Thanks!
If we can identify the 7 brothers that originally came to Jamaica and settled at Harvey River, then we can refer to the Jamaica Gleaner archive and possible find out additional information.
Just a thought!

Re: Martin Hervey & Emma Bowden (67 & 68) & Zibetha (117) Our line stems from Martin Harvey born 1854 in Gwinnear. son of Martin Harvey & Emma Bowden. Can you go further back than Martin Harvey born 1780 presumably around Gwinnear?? We’re in Australia heading to England in a few weeks and wouldn’t mind hunting around the Cornwall area for relevant gravestones, churches etc.
Re:Martin Harvey & Emma Bowden & Zibetha…..please email pdjames@aapt.net.au

There is a lot of Harvey’s in the states and in England. July 20, 2011
Ask you parents what part of Jamaica they’re from and also what’s your grandfather’s name,

I wish we would all check for updates more often that way their won’t be any confusion with the information posted. This way we can connect the dots better and much faster.

Hello. Doing some Harvey River family research for my significant other….he is descendent from a Martha Jane Harvey that the family says is from Harvey River. Could she be the Martha that is the daughter of William Harvey and Frances Duhaney? We don’t have a birth date but she married Samuel Payne and they had their first child in 1892. Does this ring a bell? Samuel Payne was a cultivator in Friendship, Hanover.
